Roma women and men, who are living in informal settlements and to whom we are providing support, are exposed to numerous risks and are in an extremely difficult economic situation.

Inadequate housing conditions that include living without running water and electricity, working jobs that are usually poorly paid or even dangerous to health, lack of personal documentation that prevents the practicing of their basic human rights, social exclusion which as one of the consequences has as a low level of education are just parts of everyday life of the children and adults living in informal settlements.

They are often exposed to offensive language, discrimination and belittling. Numerous problems they face were only highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are providing support to them on a daily basis and are trying to contribute to creation of conditions for them to exercise their rights. However, only together we can ensure that Roma, including those most vulnerable among them, have an equal chance to live in dignity, without hate and discrimination.
